Frontiersman Camping Fellowship – Frontier Adventure/Trace/Advancement

The Frontiersman Camping Fellowship will hold its annual Frontier
Adventure/Trace/Advancement Testing on January 10 – 13, 2008 (Thursday thru
Sunday). Please make plans to attend in order to help out, become a new FCF
member, meet old and new friends, have a great Spiritual experience with God
the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit, obtain the Buckskin level,
obtain the Wilderness level, compete for some great frontier prizes, and
have a great Louisiana January Camping experience! Please remember that all
Young Bucks MUST fill out the FCF Frontier Adventure/Trace Registration
Form, Medical History Form, and the FCF Gun/Knife Form which can be found on
the La. Royal Rangers Web Site Registrations/Forms page.

Frontiersman Camping Fellowship Potential New Members

Attention to those who want to become members of the Frontiersman Camping
Fellowship: you must complete the trail of the Grizzly merit trail, complete
the FCF Candidate application form which can be found on the La. Royal
Rangers Web Site Registration Forms page, write your 300 word theme, and
have a willingness to serve Royal Rangers. We will introduce new members
into FCF only during the January FCF Frontier Adventure which is held only
once a year starting on Friday January 11, 2008 at 5:00PM. You still have
time to complete the FCF requirements to join in January if you hurry!
Please turn in your application to Nelson “Snake Hunter” Jones along with
the appropriate fees by December 31, 2007 so we can prepare for your new
Adventure. Please make a copy of your application and 300 word theme before
sending the original to Snake Hunter. Please bring your copies with you to
the Frontier Adventure. We will send you a letter after receipt of your
application with the information about your Frontier Adventure. If you have

Frontiersman Camping Fellowship Wilderness Testing

Attention to those who feel they are ready to be servants to many in Royal
Rangers and in the Christian community. If you feel led by the Holy Spirit
to obtain the Wilderness level of servant hood, we will be holding a
Wilderness level of testing on Thursday January 10, 2008 starting at
12:00Noon before the FCF Frontier Adventure/Trace starts. We MUST have 3
(three) Wilderness Candidates in order to hold the Wilderness testing. If
we do not have 3 (three) Wilderness Candidates, we will not be able to hold
the testing. You must contact Ted “Eagle Eye” Romero at 337-837-4151 (Home)
337-278-8905 (Cell); Manson “Lighthouse” Reynolds at (318) 869-0326; or
Nelson “Snake Hunter” Jones at (318) 281-4615 before December 31, 2007 in
order for us to determine if we will have enough Wilderness Candidates to
hold the testing. In order to be eligible for the Wilderness Testing you
must have already obtained your Wilderness Pouch from Ted “Eagle Eye” Romero
at 337-837-4151 (Home) 337-278-8905 (Cell) or Manson “Lighthouse” Reynolds
at (318) 869-0326 and must have worn it for the prior three months to the
Wilderness testing (that means you must have started wearing the Wilderness
pouch on or by October 15, 2007). You also must have your Wilderness Packet
and have everything ready for the Wilderness test. You must also fill out a
FCF application for advancement which can be found on the National FCF Web

Frontiersman Camping Fellowship Buckskin Testing

Attention to those who feel they are ready to move up to the Buckskin level
in Frontiersman Camping Fellowship. We will hold Buckskin Level Testing on
Friday January 11, 2008 starting at 12:00Noon. You must be there at that
time to be tested for your Buckskin level. There are new National level
testing procedures for the Buckskin level and new Buckskin candidates will
be tested on their skills. You must also complete the Buckskin Workbook and
fill out a FCF application for advancement which can be found on the

Your Buckskin workbook will be mailed to you. The Buckskin workbook must be
filled out and pages 29 & 30 only mailed back to Rodney “Eagle Scout” Eaton
at above address for checking of chosen Name and Totem December 15, 2007 to
be eligible to go out for Buckskin at Trace in January 08. The new testing
will test your following skills: Hawk throwing, Knife throwing, Flint and
Steel Fire Making, Primitive Meal/Cooking, Outfit Judging, FCF Memorization
of FCF Pledge and FCF Symbol, Trade Item Skills (you must bring a trade item
from your chosen Frontier skill), Identification Staff, and the Buckskin
Study Course. The Pre-Requisites for Buckskin are as follows: Candidates
must finish the Buckskin Workbook before participation in a Buckskin
Advancement test; you must make and bring a silence stick (this should be a
3 to 4 inch wooden stick hung by a leather thong around your neck. You can
decorate it any way you like.), complete FCF outfit and ID staff, a trade
item (Made using your Frontier Chosen Skill) must be brought to the Buckskin
Advancement Testing to be evaluated and scored toward achieving the required
points to advance to Buckskin. Candidates should practice basic Frontiersmen
skills learned in the Frontier Adventure before attempting to pass a
Buckskin Advancement Testing. The testing will be based on points earned
and you must earn a minimum of points to pass. If you have any questions

New Frontier Adventure Workers

We will be holding a new version of the Frontier Adventure on Friday January
11, 2008 starting at 5:00PM which promises to add a new and exciting
experience to joining the Frontiersman Camping Fellowship. We will need
current members to help with the new Frontier Adventure. If you feel that
you can help with the Frontier Adventure, please contact Rodney “Eagle
Scout” Eaton at (318) 742-9890 (home) (318) 469-6665 (cell) to find out
where you can be of assistance. We will need a Frontiersman level Old Timer
to run the Royal Ranger Area along with two Frontiersman level Young Bucks
to help out. They will need to be in full Class “B” Royal Ranger Uniforms.
We will need a Buckskin level Old Timer and a Buckskin level Young Buck in
full FCF outfits to help at another spot. We will need two Wilderness level
Old Timers to be in charge of the new Candidates. We will also need other
members to help with the classes. If you are interested in running any of
the classes or helping with the new Frontier Adventure, please contact

FCF Trace

The Jim Bowie Chapter of FCF will hold its annual Trace on Saturday
afternoon January 12, 2008 (after the Frontier Adventure is completed)
through Sunday January 13, 2008 after the Noon Shared meal. This is an
exciting time to fellowship, hold Jim Bowie Chapter business, Praise our
God, and see who can use their skills best. We will not be holding
elections this year as all positions are currently filled. The speaker will
be Rev. Randy “Spider” Henry. We will need assistance in running the Trace.

The fees for the Frontier Adventure are Young Bucks: $50.00, Old timers:
$60.00. There is no fee for helpers.

The fee for Buckskin Advancement: $15.00. The fee for Wilderness
Advancement: $35.00.

Trace Fees: Young Bucks (17 and under)............ $15.00 per person; Old
Timers (18 and above).............. $25.00 per person; Guest Campground
fee.................. $10.00 per person; Additional
Patches....................... $2.00 each; Overnight Dorm
fee....................... $10.00 per person - Any one needing the dorms
MUST notify David Craun at least 3 days in advance.

Remember that All Young Bucks that attend the Frontier Adventure/Trace MUST
have the new FCF Frontier Adventure/Trace forms filled out and brought with
them to the Frontier Adventure/Trace. This is for all Young Bucks (Under 18
years of age), both new members and current members. You will not be
allowed to participate without the completed forms!
