2005 is already proving to be an exciting year. I am so pleased that your outpost has renewed their charter. Chartering is not only required to be recognized as an official Royal Rangers outpost, it is the channel that provides opportunities for you as leaders and the Rangers you lead.
Louisiana is a self-chartering district, that is, we are under contract to the National Royal Rangers office to charter the outposts in our state. Nationally, chartering provides the funds to operate the national office and pay salaries to the national staff. Also, chartering provides the funds to send the High Adventure magazine each quarter to your church. Each member receives a card recognizing them as a registered Royal Ranger or Ranger Leader. Without chartering there would not be a Royal Rangers program.
Statewide, your charter fee helps to underwrite the expenses of communicating directly to Ranger Leaders. It is the means of keeping you informed about matters of a statewide scope or national events updates.
As your District Commander, I am elected by the Assemblies of GOD ministers every four years at our District Council. It is a privilege to serve such a great team of dedicated leaders that are running the local outposts all over Louisiana. Your faithful prayers and support has helped make Louisiana one of the best districts in the country.
I would like to share thirteen goals that are my vision for the Royal Rangers of Louisiana:
- To see the number of active outpost in the district increase by 50%
- To see more boys reached and kept for Jesus Christ
- To see every area of a boy's life affected by what is done in Royal Rangers meetings
- To provide training to help boys develop leadership skills and traits
- To see trained leadership in each church
- To help Pastors see how Royal Rangers compliments and adds to the other ministries of the church and how Rangers make a well rounded church
- To bring honor and respect to the name and ministry of Royal Rangers
- To see the best learning methods used to minister to the boys
- To see that facilities are provided on the state level to meet the needs of the outposts when they come to statewide activities and events
- To incorporate the best techniques available to enhance the development of the overall Royal Rangers program
- To see Royal Rangers be involved in missions outreaches such as:
- Junior Light for the Lost program
- MAPS Pathfinder trips (foreign and domestic)
- Prayer Tasks Force for inner city ministries endeavors
- To see relationships of Royal Ranger leaders be strong with the LORD, the Family, the Church, and to others as well as themselves
- To keep the Royal Ranger ministry fluid enough to meet the new challenges ahead, yet solid enough to provide stability and reliability
May the LORD Richly Bless you and multiply your outpost in number of boys and leaders, quality of ministry, advancements, and souls added to the Kingdom of GOD.
